Carpatic Carpatic Carpatic Carpatic

The story of Carpatic has its roots in 1985 when a group of passionate climbers founded the Carpatic Alpine Club. In 1990, the club obtained legal personality and affiliated itself with the Romanian Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing, marking the beginning of an active presence in national and international sports competitions. Over the years, our high-performance athletes have collected numerous national, Balkan, and European titles and records, consolidating the club’s reputation as the most decorated sports club in Romania.

In 1996, we opened the first Carpatic climbing gym at Ecran Club in Grozăvești, taking the first step in sharing our passion with the community. It was the first gym of its kind in Bucharest and in Romania, open to the general public. In those pioneering times of bouldering and sport climbing, we built a dynamic community together with other climbers from Bucharest, fueled by passion and the desire for excellence.

As climbing gained popularity, we felt the need to offer more to this sport. In 2012, we opened a new Carpatic Climbing Gym inside Sema Park, a larger facility with bouldering and climbing amenities, open to both experienced climbers and beginners. Here, everyone interested is invited to discover and join our dynamic community, to explore and enjoy this wonderful sport in a safe and friendly environment.

At Carpatic, our mission is to promote climbing and bouldering, providing a safe and stimulating space for anyone who wants to explore this sport, regardless of their experience level. We take pride in our team of qualified instructors, a variety of routes, and a setting that encourages improvement and continuous development.

Ionut Papa

Ionut Papa

Mountaineering and Climbing fascinates me, constantly offering me unique challenges. They combine physical effort with mental effort in a vertical puzzle whose deciphering is key to success. Multiple qualifications in the field of alpine sports, combined with those in the area of emotional control (I am a graduate of the Faculty of Psychology), help me in developing personalized training and preparation programs that leverage the abilities of students (clients) to a higher level, accelerating their progress in climbing.
